In the first add-on for Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Money, pre-War money can be exchanged for (or from) Sierra Madre chips while inside the Sierra Madre Casino. The primary usefulness of pre-War money is as a trade item, owing to its weightlessness and relatively high value. As it has lost almost all value to the inhabitants of the Wasteland, it can also be found in garbage cans.

It can be found nearly anywhere money might be found in real life such as cash registers, safes, suitcases and desks. The item is valued at 10 caps per stack and is affected by the player's Barter skill. In Fallout: New Vegas, pre-War money appears as a stack of indistinguishable bills, held together by a green seal. These are typically limited to areas like the Sierra Madre casino or the Nuka-World amusement park. Although the Great War eliminated the United States and its economy, reducing stacks of green bills to little more than collector's items and scrap parchment, certain pre-War devices continue to recognize them as valid currency. The inflation presumably caused by the Resource Wars was severe, leaving banknotes as the primary medium of exchange. United States dollars (USD) were the pre-War currency of the United States of America. So, we think it's about time that we got started and had a look at some of the more secretive things that are hidden throughout New Vegas. The following section is transcluded from Pre-War money. Truly, Fallout is the kind of game that needs to be played several times to truly see all (or as much as you can) that there is to see. This means that we're going to be looking right into the gameplay and narrative of this game to see what may or may not be well known by the rest of the video game world! Fallout games are notorious for having so many things that one playthrough isn't enough. Yes, what this list is about is telling people the things about New Vegas that they may not have discovered during the time they've spent with the game, no matter how much they think they love the game.

That means that there are a lot of people out there who believe they've seen everything that the game has to offer, but we're here to tell everyone that this probably isn't true! The Fallout series is the sort that brings out obsession in people, meaning that people end up playing the games over and over again while looking for new things to do and new ways to try and play the game.
